My dear friend, We are exactly 60 days away from 2014 and so far, today is Day 10 of #LAST70DAYSOF2013. It may seem that there is still time but if you are my kind of person, you will know already that the New Year is already upon us. Therefore, the mindset I adopt is that of planning and preparation for the goodness that is ahead, while we expect this year to end well, with fats dropping along the way for many who believe. That is why I decided to engage myself in the #LAST70DAYSOF2013 project so I will be in the right mindset by the time I finally find myself in 2014. It is for this same reason that I am sharing it with you. It can only get better! Today’s article is on anticipating good to happen daily.
To anticipate means to be in expectation of something. The attitude of positive anticipation is one of the best that anyone can dare to possess. It is so precious because there is power in our anticipation. You may want to call it an attitude of faith but that is if your mean positive anticipation because I know a lot of people whose anticipation is constantly negative and I wonder why. Is it because of their orientation, environment or circle of friends?
So when you wake up every day, what form of anticipation do you wake up with? Is it the one that expects good to happen or the one that hopes it will be another day of calamity? I want to dare you to only anticipate the good to happen daily. Samuel Smiles said “an intense anticipation itself transforms possibility into reality; our desires being often but precursors of the things which we are capable of performing”. So it is your desire as you wake up every day that eventually becomes what you see at the end of each day. You may say that you did so yesterday and nothing good happened. Well, let me call your mind to these words which you may or may not be familiar with but they are true if you are a believer in God….. it says “We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” (Romans 8:28, AMP). What it means that, it is not what happened to you in a day that matters but your ability to maintain your positive anticipation that everything will work out for good for you.
This topic should be of great importance to you especially if you consider yourself to have been made righteous by God and expect that the coming year will bring glad tidings to you. Why? Because “Then you will have a future, and your ·wishes [hopes] will ·come true [not be cut off].”…. As promised by God. I think it is bad not to wake up with anticipation [expectation] but worse to wake up with a negative anticipation. Because that will mean you do not have knowledge of what God’s expectation for you is. If there is no reason to anticipate good to happen daily, let it be anchored on God’s word over your life which says, “ I say this because I know ·what [the plans] I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have ·good plans for you [plans for your peace/security], not plans ·to hurt you [for your harm]. I will give you hope and a good future”.
Because your anticipation is such a powerful force and seems like a prayer, I will want to therefore encourage today with these words that for the rest of your life, whether in good or bad times to wake up daily with the anticipation that good will happen to you. Do not forget that there is power in you through which you are able to do exceedingly abundantly above what you can anticipate each day. Wake up with the mindset that “the best will happen to me today“. Have a blessed day.
Prayer: As the righteous one of the Lord, your expectation for today, 2014 and the rest of your life shall never be cut off. May your mind be totally renewed as you follow God to only anticipate good to happen to you daily.
