Last 70 Days of 2013 – Day 46: Envision your greatness

Last 70 Days of 2013 – Day 46: Envision your greatness

“And He brought him outside [his tent into the starlight] and said, Look now toward the heavens and count the stars—if you are able to number them. Then He said to him, So shall your descendants be.” – Jehovah Jireh
Before the encounter highlighted above, the Lord said to Abram after Lot (his nephew) had left him, Lift up now your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; As far your eyes can see, I will give you. For God to let similar situation to occur twice is a sign of how important the matter is and how serious God takes it. He, (God) therefore expects the same mindset from us. So then, what does it mean to envision a thing? To envision means to visualize, to project (into the future), to fancy, to see, to figure, to picture, to conceive of, to see in one’s mind, to imagine…. and so on. So when we talk about envisioning your greatness, it’s all about visualizing, projecting, fancying, seeing, figuring, picturing, imagining, and conceiving in your mind your greatness.
The lesson we learn here is that your greatness first must be pictured by you before it becomes a reality in your life. How far do you see yourself going in life? How far do you see yourself going in 2014? God wants you to envision the greatness He is bringing into your life before it comes. He does not want you to be taken unawares by it but rather wants you to have a preview of the dimension of His greatness you will experience so you can prepare for it in time.
The step God follows in making men great is that first, He creates a platform for their greatness, then He separates them, then He allows them to have a glimpse (envision) the greatness, then He provides the opportunities for you to seize for your greatness. Of all these, the most important, is not that God had made provision for your greatness, but that you are able to picture that greatness for yourself and align your everyday life to it. It is after you have envisioned your greatness that you can now go on to create it. Because, you cannot create what you have not seen (in your mind’s eye or in the physical).
And some people may not believe but it truth that “everyone holds greatness within them. It’s not something that someone has and another does not. The difference is that some people have connected to it and choose to live their life from that place.” If God had shown Abram what to do to become great and he fails to do it, there was no way he would have become they father of nations. Yet, Abram was made to first be able to conceive his own greatness in his mind and believe it for himself and then by faith work towards seeing it becomes real.
How many times did you try to conceive in your mind your greatness in this soon-ending year? Did you ever picture where you really wanted to be? If you did and believed it enough, you would have been there by now. But, thankfully, you still have today to start on a different path toward your greatness. You can start envisioning it, you can start believing it, you can start working towards it today! You do not need or have to end 2014 like this year but it all depends on as far as your eyes can see in 2014. I am sure you can remember our discussion on creating your life plan (which you can find on my Facebook notes or on my blog at Envisioning your greatness is the first step in creating a meaning life plan because before you can plan, you need to envision.
People’s concept of greatness may be that of “being better than others when compared to them.” In this piece, I am not talking about that mindset of greatness where you judge yourself or compare yourself with other people. I am talking about that part of you that is found in God and is comparable to any other person because God made you unique and different. It does not have to do with any form of pride of self ego. I am talking about envisioning the best you that can be and how you use that unique ability and personality to transform your life and other people around you. This kind of greatness humbles you and lets people around you discover YOU for themselves by the way you reach out to them and become a blessing to them. Abra(ha)m, when he finally became great never used his greatness to compare with other people. In fact, he always denied it whenever he met people lower than him in all ramification. They only discovered how great he was when they attempted victimizing him.
So, my call to you today is very simple: Do not let 2014 come and go without a daily time of envisioning your greatness (and of course going to work it out). Stop doubting your greatness. If you can see it, you can have. The more you spend time on envisioning your greatness, the more ideas become clearly in your mind and the more you gain the strength to pursue your greatness. Let everyday of your life, therefore, bring you closer to the sight of who your truly are. I salute your greatness and I am glad to be part of it. God bless you.
Prayer: You will not end 2014 small. Your greatness will manifest in Jesus name, Amen!
