[Monday Success Reflections with Apeh] 14: 5 ‘Never Be Afraids’ for this quarter of 2014

Hello Friend,
Welcome to the first Monday in this second quarter of the year. In today’s success reflections, I want to share with you something I feel will help you drive through the next three months of the year, at the end of which we will be hitting the middle of the year.
I want to help you address the common fears that you may confront in the coming months. This is because it is important we do not live in fear if we must succeed in life. Also, looking at the scriptures, you will discover that God is very much interested in dealing with our fears as much as He desires to deal with the things that hinder our relationship with Him. That is why you have about 365 ‘fear nots’ in the bible, according to findings by theologians.
One of these ‘fear nots’ that bares clearly the mind of God is seen in Isaiah 41:10 ‘Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice‘. This quote reveals God’s thoughts and what our responses should be in times of fear. It also exposes some of the promises of God to us in times of fearful confrontations.
So here are a few ‘never be afraids’ I’d like to share with you today
1. Never be afraid to trust God even when He seems late
Sometimes the most fearful thing to do is to trust God in times of our battles, our low moments, especially when we have an experience with delay in getting a response from God. This fear leads to making the wrong decisions followed by the wrong actions, just to help ourselves. One truth is that God never disappoints anyone who puts his trust in Him. You may have had delays in the first quarter of the year and you are wondering if this will ever change. There are several who have had similar experiences that have to prove that God never fails. Well, what I have to say is ‘never be afraid to trust God again.
2. Never be afraid to be yourself even if others think otherwise
One of the key reasons for failures in life is trying to be like other people. And painfully, this is seen almost every day in people’s lives as they struggle to meet up with friends and family’s expectation of them. You can only maximize God’s deposits in your life’s purpose and destiny only when you remain who God has made you to be. You may not even know how many people out there who desire to have what you are having until you begin to live in the light of who you are in God. God is much pleased if you become who He wants YOU to be than when you struggle to be like someone else. Most importantly, being you is a key to discovering your personal path to success. Remember, original is always worth more than a copy.
3. Never be afraid to try again even if you fail
People are afraid to try especially when their previous attempts on success resulted in what short-sighted people may call failure. But the truth is that life is much more interesting when you failed while trying than commonly existing without giving life a try. There’s no one who has never failed at one time in his or her life before. What makes the difference that while others remain down, others stand up and try again. And, it is when you try again that you create the opportunity for success for yourself. And as a matter of fact, failing is an opportunity to rebuild.
4. Never be afraid to love, even your enemies
There may be people in your life who have only been sources of hurts and discouragements to you since the beginning of the year and now you are considering hating them. Love is the most power change agent in the world. You cannot get those people to change by rewarding them with hatred. As a believer, rewarding evil with evil should not be part of your dictionary as the Lord has commanded. It is important that in this season that you are not afraid to love people because loving them will make you better and change them for good.
5. Never be afraid of change, even when it hard to accept
Change will always come and go. What keep the world moving are the changes that we experience daily. There are moments in our lives when all we need at those points would be a simple adjustment to the current situation. And this change must begin with you because you cannot change what is around you until you change what is within you. The word of God encourages us to change our minds continuously until we come to the mind of Christ. Remember, life begins to get boring when you remain within the same level.
There is no claims that these are all the ‘never be afraids’ that you need for total success in this season but they are good enough to help you go a step further in your pursuit for a good life. So, I will encourage you to embrace them while you go ahead to discover more of the things that create fear in your life and hand them over to the Almighty God for His courage.
I will see you next Monday, living without fear.
