Monday Success Reflections with Apeh] 20: Building your Intellectual Assets

Hello friend,

Welcome to another great Monday again. It’s always my pleasure to share sometime with you here. Today, I will like to share with you on building your intellectual assets. It is important to note that personal excellence is perhaps the most important of all invisible and intangible assets that you can acquire. Achieving personal excellence in your business or industry requires lifelong dedication.

And one of the lifelong dedication you need is building your intellectual assets. Today, we hear about intellectual property because people have invested in building their intellectual assets to the point that whatever their minds can conceive and produce becomes their property that people have to pay for.

Interestingly, every one has or can acquire intellectual capital that can contribute to making your life more meaningful and purposeful, giving you the opportunity to experience both personal and corporate fulfilment.

The three intellectual assets that we need to build are:
– our core knowledge
– our skills
– our abilities

The question is, is there any area in life or study that you have core knowledge in? Is there any skill that you possess that either stands you out from the crowd or places you among the best of the bests? Or still, is there any ability that you have acquired that makes you unique in your domain of influence? If you cannot answer yes to any of these, then there is need for you to begin to look at building these up. They determine how well you do your job and the value of your contribution to your life and that if others as well as your business. This is the only way you can achieve and live a significant life.

Building your intellectual assets will require three processes: education, experience and training. These three are different and contribute differently to building your mental capacity. I always encourage people to acquire all of these three as much as they can and no matter how much it will cost them to do so. Education opens your mind to knowledge, experiences gives you skills and training develop your abilities.

Therefore, there is no successful person who does not have these three assets and have not gone through the three processes listed. So, this week give attention to these and your success will become closer as you begin to put them to use.

I hope this creates a passion you you to do something’s differently today and for the rest of the week. I will see you next Monday as we explore further on these.
